NEFFA, formerly known as MycoTEX, produces mycelium-based material. In the past three years, the company has expanded to become a fully automated manufacturing method for various biofabricated materials, prompting a name change to NEFFA (New Fashion Factory). MycoTEX now refers specifically to the mycelium-based material produced by NEFFA’s manufacturing system.
NEFFA is working towards a future where people can wear clothes that are tailored to their individual measurements, made in a sustainable and ethical manner, and affordable. This future is not just a dream; NEFFA has already created the first fully 3D, home-compostable garment using body scans. In the coming year, NEFFA will launch its first robotic manufacturing cell in partnership with a German manufacturing partner.
